Hot Seat Game
One person from one team will sit in a chair at the front of the room facing away from the board. (Teams will alternate turns.)
The team’s task is to get the person on the hot seat to guess which vocabulary word they are describing (the word will be on the slide).Slide36
Hot Seat Rules
Teams are only allowed to give three ONE word clues.
If you say a word, then it counts!
You only have one minute per round.
The person on the hot seat can only guess twice. If he/she guesses correctly the first time, he/she will receive two points and will receive one point for the second guess.Slide37
Unacceptable Clues
You may not say words that sound similar (not a rhyming game)
.
You may not say any part of the word
.
You may not say what the letter the vocabulary word begins with.
You may not use hand motions.
*All decisions of the game show host are final. Slide38
Example
If the word on the slide reads Capricious,
then one team could say three words that tie into the definition (you can’t decide).
OR the team could give three synonyms (fickle, changeable, unpredictable)
OR you could say (Ms. Landon’s song) Slide39
