1. EGU General Assembly 2021Abstract: EGU21-11139 | ECSCrustal structure across Himalayan Frontal Thrust (HFT) using high-resolution geophysical datasetsShashank Narayan Verma, Dibakar Ghosal, Vikas, Sudhanshu Pandey, Pratyush Anand, and Harshad SrivastavaIndian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, 208016, Uttar Pradesh

2. Study Area Siwalik group of rocks mainly sandstone, conglomerate, and alluvial deposits Seismic Thumper (energy source) Geophones 96 (5 Hz) GI: 20 m SI: 20 m Near offset: 100 m Profile Length: 5.2 km End on survey SRTM DEM (30 m resolution) RTK for elevation variation . P1

3. Methodology Reflection Seismic Refraction Seismic Stacking of three shots for better SNR Ground Roll removal (LFAF), and frequency filtering Static correction Sorting in CDP domain Velocity Analysis NMO correction Stacking with NMO velocity Picking of the first arrival travel-time (refracted phases) Inversion of the picked travel-times using shortest path technique (Moser 1991; Van Avendonk et al., 2004)

4. Results Northward dipping reflector ~ 3- 3.5 s demarcating the extent of overlying sediment deposit We observe dislocation in the beds at might be the effect of HFT 1D velocity indicates top weathered layer of velocity 1.2- 1.8 km/s overlying the bed rock Stacked section Along PGR Line 1(reflection seismic) 1D velocity profile at point P1(refraction seismic)

5. Thank you
