The organization delivers its mission to foster a love of learning, culture and community through distinctive PBS programming available on four broadcast channels and online, as we as person - to - person experiences in the classroom and the community. PBS SoCal seeks an Education Consultant to assist with research and project planning for an upcoming grant around teacher profession al development. Consultants would assist PBS SoCal with a needs assessment, project planning, and final project design. Scope of Work 1. Assist with the r esearch around early education teachers’ community needs in Los Angeles and O range County and develop a written assessment of those needs. 2. Research and identify potential early education teacher program framework s. 3. I dentify areas of need around early education teacher training and development. 4. Conduct key stakeholder i nterviews and assist with teacher focus group discussions. 5. Contribute to final project plan in collaboration with the PBS SoCal early education team members. Deliverables Timeline: September 2019 – March 1, 2019 Work with project manager to establish framework for th is project Identify potential partners and teachers . Conduct a needs assessment including teacher interview and focus groups. Work with project manager to develop a logic model. Work with project manager to establish an educator advisory group . Work with project manager to develo p a final work plan and methodolog y for a grant proposal to be submitted on March 1, 2019. Consultants must have a general knowledge of and a strong interest in young children and/or early childhood education . Consultants should have e xperience conducting field research using participatory approaches and e xperience in consolidating and analyzing literature, quantitative and qualitative data, writing reports and making recommendations .
