Notification of Academic Adjustments:

“Professor of record” is emailed a Disability Services Agreement (DSA) – at any point in the term

DSA lists approved classroom and testing adjustments – provides explanations

Important for students and faculty to meet and discuss plans for using adjustments in each class

Selected Testing Adjustments:

Extended time for written and practical in-class quizzes, tests and final exams

Extension based on the amount of time the class is permitted

NOT the amount of time its expected students will need1.5x most commonIncreased font size/line spacing/page size or colored paperAmount of increase on DSABasic 4-function calculatorEven on “no calculator” tests

Selected Classroom Adjustments:

Materials in enlarged font/ increased spacing /colored paper

Use of dark markers on white board

Materials in electronic format

Use of personal laptop or classroom monitor

To take notes

To view projected materials in close proximity

Extended time on assignments

Flexibility in attendance requirements

Faculty should contact the DSO if there are questions re. approved adjustments.
