, and all lands within one - eighth mile thereof. Under this Regulated Closure it is unlawful to be in violation of the following restrictions: • Smoking is prohibited while traveling, except in vehicles on improved roads, in boats on the water, and other designated locations. • Open fires, including campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires and warming fires are permitted all day during low fire danger ( ). Open fires , including campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires and warming fires are prohibited i n moderate fire danger ( and high fire danger ( ), except at locations designated by the forester (Locations Attached) . All open fires are prohibited in extreme fire danger ( ). Portable cooking stoves using liquefied or bottled fuels are allowed at all levels . • The use of chain saws are permitted all day during low fire danger ( ) , before 1:00 p.m. and after 8 p.m. during moderate fire danger ( ) and before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m. during high fire danger ( ) . The use of chain saws are prohibited during extreme fire danger ( ). Each chain saw is required to have one shovel and one fire extinguisher of at least 8 ounce capacity. A Firewatch of at least one hour is required following the use of each saw. • Cutting, grinding and welding of metal is permitted all day during low fire danger ( ) , before 1:00 p.m. and after 8 p.m. during moderate fire danger ( ) and before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m. during h igh fire danger ( ) as long as it is conducted in a cleared area and has a charged garden hose or one 2 ½ pound or larger fire extinguisher immediately available. Cutting, grindi ng and welding of metal is prohibited during extreme fire danger ( ) . • The mowing of dried, cured grass is permitted all day during low fire danger ( ) , before 1:00 p.m. and after 8 p.m. during moderate fire danger ( ) , before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m. during high fire danger ( ) . The mowing of dried, cured grass is prohibited during extreme fire danger ( ) . The culture and harv est of agricultural crops i s exempt from this requirement. • Motor vehicles, including motorcycles and all - terrain vehicles, on un - improved roads are permitted all day during low fire danger ( ) , before 1:00 p.m. and after 8 p.m. during moderate fire danger ( ) , b efore 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m. d uri

Motor vehicles, including motorcycles and all - terrain vehicles, on un - improved roads are prohibited during extreme fire danger ( ) except for the culture and harvest of agricultural crops. • Possession of the following firefighting equipment is required while traveling, except on state highways, county roads and driveways: one shovel and one gallon of water or one 2½ pound or larger fire extinguisher. All - terrain vehicles and motorcycles must be equipped with one 2½ pou nd or larger fire extinguisher. • Use of fireworks is prohibited. • Any other spark - emitting i nte rnal c ombustion e ngine not specifically mentioned is permitted all day during low fire danger ( ) , before 1:00 p.m. and after 8:00 p.m. during moderate fire danger ( ) , before 10:00 a.m. and after 8:00 p.m. during high fire danger ( ) w hen conducted in a cleared area and a charged garden hose or one 2 ½ pound or larger fire extingu isher is immediately available. Any other spark - emitting internal combustion engine not specifically mentioned is prohibited during extreme fire danger ( ). Aside from these restrictions, also prohibited throughout fire season is backyard debris burning, the use of exploding targets and tracer ammunition. Additionally, the use of sky lanterns are prohibited in the State of Oregon at all times (ORS 476.735). The State Forester or an authorized representative may, in writing, approve a modification or waiver of these requirements. These restrictions shall remain in effect until replaced, suspended, or terminated by an additional proclamation of the State Forester or an authorized representative. Maps of the subject area may be viewed at the State Forester's Off ice, in Salem, Oregon, and at principal offices of the Forest Protection District. It is the responsibility of the individual to know what the daily fire danger level is and how it effects regulated activities. Definitions of words and phrases used in this proclamation may be found in ORS 47 7.001, OAR 629 - 041 - 0005.
