Member categories (n=34)CIC MEMBER – UK-based professional institutions, business or standard-setting associations for built environment professional services organisations, whose primary purpose is engaged with the planning, procuring, designing, constructing, training, developing, researching, regulating, maintaining or managing the built environment.CIC ASSOCIATE – UK-based non-commercial organisations involved in, or supporting,  the planning, procuring, designing, constructing, training, developing, researching, regulating, maintaining or managing the built environment.CIC HONORARY AFFILIATE – individuals and organisations that CIC wishes to recognise, by invitation only.

Where the money comes from and where it goes toMembership Services – funded by membership subscriptions - includes Representation/Lobbying; Thought Leadership; Specialist Groups and Panels; Nations’ and Regions’ activity; events and information guides.Projects – funded by grants and contributions  – of which the BEPE project is an example – developing key issues related to thought leadership, developing knowledge, developing skills, attracting diverse talent, sustainability.Business – funded by sustainable income from sales/fees - to include relevant income generating activities such as accreditation services, CICAIR Ltd, DQI etc, CIC publications and contracts plus other sustainable income generating activities approved by Council.

Membership Governance i) BoardChairman – elected by Council for 2 years plus 1 year preceding and following as Deputy Chairman (4 years in total)Deputy Chairman - elected by Council, as above (4 years in total)Chief Executive – appointed by the Board (ex-officio) Honorary Treasurer – elected by Council (5 years at present but to be agreed) or, in due course,  Executive Finance Director (appointed by the Board and ex-officio)Chairman of CICAIR Ltd – elected by CICAIR Ltd AGM/CIC Council for 4 years Three Directors elected from amongst each tier of membership (Tiers A+B+C) for a term of three years (renewable) Up to four additional directors – selected by the Board for relevant skills, experience, diversity and professional experience  elected or co-opted for terms of three years (renewable)  

9. Membership Governance ii) CouncilThe CIC Council remains the governing body of CIC.  It will meet at least three times per year with an additional AGM and members’ conference, as at present. The number of voting representatives will be scaled according to the CIC Member Tiers, as follows:Tier A Members – 3 voting representativesTier B Members – 2 voting representativesTier C Members – 1 voting representative
