Type of drug, weight and value has been provided where available to extract. When a potential crime is committed in any of HM Prisons it is dealt with on a case by case basis. Drugs found on a person or in a cell would be dealt with differently to someone attempting to supply drugs when visiting a prison. If it is indicated that a prison visitor is carrying drugs they would b e asked if they wish to proceed with the visit or participate in a closed visit. If they decline and leave the prison premises without passing the drugs on, the supply charge it is no longer valid. A cell search may uncover banned articles such as drugs h owever prisoners are often reluctant to provide a statement as a witness or complainant due to repercussions from other prisoners.
