Bates took her anger not out on anyone, but on a right for change. Slide4
Important facts…The identity of Daisy Bates parents has
not been discovered. Before the age of 7, she was taken in as a foster child. At the age of 15, she met her future husband, L. C. Bates. In 1957, she encouraged nine black students, including herself, to enroll into a white school which was a very big step.
This led to national and international recognition for their courage and persistence to fight for what they believed in.
