JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Edward Snowden in 2013 released hundreds of thousands of classified documents.Revealed details of US Gov. surveillance programs.Charged with theft, unauthorized communication of nat. defense, and willful communication of classified intelligence to an unauthorized person.Has since fled to Russia.Slide3
Should he be Treated as a Traitor?
Leaking information on unconstitutional surveillance of Americans is not all he's leaked, much less stole.
US Gov. spied on Chinese pc’s, the Brazilian Government, the Swedish Gov. helping us spy, and how the NSA helped the Dutch spy on Somalia.Global surveillance being spearheaded by NSA, use of cyber attacks, intelligence on Al-Qaeda .
Most
of the information he has leaked has involved other
countries, not just the NSA in America, and all
was illegally shared.
"I don’t think he should be brought home without facing the music" -Hillary Clinton.Slide4
Or Treated As a Patriot?
Snowden is only following suit
in bringing to light information that benefits the public, like Daniel Ellsberg who released the Pentagon Papers, or Mordechai Vanunu who revealed the existence of Israel's weapons program. He showed the extent of global surveillance and the amount of data they were collecting, as well as the data of millions of Americans, all illegally.According to the Guardian, the NSA collected 97 billion pieces of information worldwide, 3 billion of those from US based networksSlide5

"He did—he did break the law, and I think there should be a penalty to that. But I think what he did in educating us should be taken into consideration". - Senator Bernie SandersSlide7
