Film convention Example from film/scene How the conventions present ideas about my character Camera shot Close up shot on _____ face in the _____ scene. The close up allows me to view _______ angry facial expression in great detail and I can therefore understand their attitude towards _______.Target AudienceThe target audience for The Goonies is _______. This is because __________ and ________.

Film convention Example from film/scene How the conventions present ideas about my character Sound Symbolism Diegetic sound – Andy plays some 80s pop music at her cheerleading practise. The reflection of flames is on the car window as Francis sets the gaol on fire. Andy plays this music when she is at cheerleading training. This suggests that she is a fun-loving and stereotypical all-American cheerleading girl. Fire is destructive and can represent evil. The fire in this scene overlays Francis’ face as he commits a crime and cackles as the gaol goes up in flames. The fire is symbolic of his criminal habits and lack of remorse.Target AudienceThe target audience for The Goonies is _______. This is because __________ and ________.

e.g. Dialogue, the sound of ‘punches’, Andy playing her CD at cheerleading training.
