Answer using FULL sentences and paragraphs!

One way that William controlled England was…

Make sure you discuss at least two methods!Slide6

‘William’s most important method for controlling England was the Domesday book.’ Do you agree with this? Explain your answer.

Introduction: After Duke William took over England, he had to try and keep it calm. He did this in different ways.

The

Domesday

Book – What was it? Why did he use it? How

important was

it in keeping control?

The Feudal System –

What was it? Why did he use it? How important was it in keeping control

?

Castles -

What

were they?

Why did he use

them?

How important

were they in

keeping control

?

Conclusion – Answer the question – do you think the

Domesday

book WAS or WAS NOT the main way William kept control? If so, explain why, if not, explain why not. Explain why all three methods were usefulSlide7

Now swap books and peer assess your work. Make sure you give a level and reasons for it.

• (3C-3A) Identify different methods used by William to control England.

• (4C-4B) Give descriptions of the methods used.

• (4A-5C) Give reasons for the use of these methods.

• (5B-5A)Explain the reasons you have given.

• (6C) As above and judge which was the most important method.

• ( 6B-6A) Give reasons to support your decision.

Level 4b because you have described the methods used.

Even better if you gave reasons for the use of these methods.
