One Word StorySlide26

Journal March 29

th

Most people tell white lies, small untruths that help to save trouble or avoid upsetting someone.

How often do we tell white lies?

According to one study, honesty increases as we get older. While most people use little white lies to make life easier, the majority of people care about honesty in both public and personal life. They believe that ‘honesty is the best policy’.

Where do you stand on this issue?

Write an ACE response arguing your position.Slide27

Telling a story one word at a time….

You will be judged!

The class with the best story will get a tea party (on the events that take place in “The Importance of Being Earnest” while we read next week

Other teachers will judge the stories so this is a fair contest.Slide30

Telling a story one word at a time…

Everyone needs the chance to contribute, so we will tell the story one word at a time.

I will start with the first word…then we will go up and down each row, writing the story by contributing one word each.

Feel free to begin a new sentence when it seems appropriate.

Don’t take a long time to think of what to say next – just listen carefully to how the story is developing and then add on your word quickly.Slide31
