Of course not many typography artists use Photoshop but Photoshop is what the majority go for as it has a wide range of tools, filters, edits basically in other words you can do and create pretty much anything on Photoshop like for example typography is not the only thing you can do on Photoshop, Photoshop is also well known to be used in things like photo editing.
