Introducing Abbott Excellence Awards A new way for [Division] employees to recognize one another’s achievements and help drive our collective success Enables employees to send a thank-you message or cash-value award to a colleague who has made a difference Program website—accessible via [Division] portal—offers an easy, convenient way both to send and redeem awards[Note to divisional administrator: If appropriate, insert local positioning here to explain how program fits with other divisional or area rewards programs.] 2

Accessing the siteGo to [Insert Abbott Excellence Awards navigation details]. To start, chose to Recognize Someone or Redeem an Award you’ve received. 3

Recognizing someoneTo recognize someone, begin by selecting his or her name from the pre-populated list or use “search for colleague” You can choose to recognize multiple individuals at a time, e.g., for a team achievement. If team members have differing award amounts, they must be recognized separately. 4

Award reasons Choose the award reason that best matches the actions/behaviors demonstrarted The optional Award Advisor can help determine the appropriate award level to recognize the employee’s contribution. To use this feature, respond to the questionnaire and follow the prompts. At the end, you will have the opportunity to select the recommended award level, or choose a different award level. 5

Choosing an Award levelOn the “Choose Award” page, you will be prompted to select an award level and provide details why the recipient is being recognized. Based on the award level, your award nomination may be routed for manager ( or higher-level) approval. 6 To ensure global equity, award amounts are automatically adjusted to enable recipients to purchase approximately the same goods/services with the award in their local country, regardless of where they live.

Award redemptionOnce the award amount is approved (if necessary) and processed, recipients are notified by email of their recognition, along with a link to details on how to redeem their award. Cash awards are saved in the recipient’s awards account and can be applied, fully or in part, to purchases as hundreds of global retailers at any time.Award amounts are valid for one year. 8
