For over 25 years, blame has been extended to gifted programs for favoring children from advantaged backgrounds. Minority groups or gifted learners are highly underrepresented in gifted programs in the United States. Statistics report that this underrepresentation may vary for 30% to 70%. The average is common at around 50%. (Ford & Thomas, 1997). Gifted students exist in all levels of society, every culture, and every ethnic group (Frasier, Garcia, Passow, 1995). In order to include underrepresented minority groups in gifted programs, it is mandatory to establish “equal footing” for all students no matter what their race, culture, or socioeconomic status is . CONFERENCE OF EUROPEAN STATISTICIANS . The speaker of the poem, that is the father, tries to talk to the elder daughter in a pleasant manner, placing the ones of all good behavior on the elder child. But the elder daughter rebels against the moralistic and unfair attitude of the father. Sometimes when the father is not in a good mood, he suppresses the elder daughter by shouting at her; but deep down, he is a loving father, and , he immediately regrets such behavior on his part. We find that although the father puts unfair pressure on the elder daughter by trying to make her endure her younger sister's negative behavior, he is good at heart. He admits to the reader that he is unfair and moralizing. The impact of the father's unfair shouting at the elder daughter is that she lapses into silence. But she is not cowed into submission; the word "simmering" shows her quiet anger against the injustice that she receives. . June 15th is World Elder Abuse Prevention Day..
