Slide2description
ice hockey i
s
a fast, exciting sport played by two teams on a sheet of ice called a
rink.
Each team has six players on the ice, and all the players wear skates. The players skate up and down the rink,
hitting a
hard rubber disk called a
puck
along the ice with long sticks. They try to score points by shooting the puck into a
goal
cage
or
net
.
Slide3location
As mentioned earlier ice hockey is performed on an ice ring the length of the rink is 26 meters across and 61 metres long. The blue things near the ends of the rink are the goals. The red line in the centre is the halfway mark (line).
Slide4clothing and EQUIPMENT
Ice hockey can be a very brutal and dangerous game to keep safe players wear shoulder pads, elbow
pads,
a garter belt and shin guards they also have padded pants and padding around the kidney and thighs. (As well as the more delicate areas).
For equipment each
player uses an L-shaped stick. The handle is made of metal or in many cases, technologically advanced composite materials. It may be no more than 140 centimetres long. Except on goalies’ sticks, the blade must be no more than 32 centimetres long and 8 centimetres wide. The blade of a goalie’s stick may be up to 39 centimetres long and 9 centimetres wide.
Slide5Judging
Every game has an achievement that u want to get to win for example in soccer you want to score a goal.
I
n rugby union to win you need to score a try or kick a goal.
To score points in hockey you need to shoot goals the goals are defended by goalies who have hockey sticks.
Slide6Interesting facts
The first organized indoor hockey game was played March 3, 1875 at Montreal’s Victoria Skating Rink, between two teams of nine players each, many of whom were McGill University
students.
The Montreal
Canadians
have won the most Stanley Cups in league history, with 23. The most recent came in
1993.Before 1914, referees used to place the puck on the ice between the players’ sticks for faceoffs. This led to many cuts, bruises and even broken hands for the referees. Starting in 1914, the referees were allowed to drop the puck between the players’ sticks.
Slide7Wonderful information Lynton and well presented. You need to add some graphics and some sound. Good use of transitions and animations.
Quite a few spelling mistakes to fix, look for the S boxes and fix, then resave into Collaboration folder.
