AFRICAN IMMIGRANT IN NEW JERSEY: A CELEBRATION COMMENTS FROM SURVEY The African Immigrant program has been an invaluable resource and worthy public service to the community . The cross- cultural experiences shared during the forums have been immense, telling the stories and acknowledging the contributions of a community whose stories are not often heard or told. I learned the similarities and differences between African and African American churches. I’ve begun realizing the valuable economic impact Africans in America have on the economy. It is staggering to realize how much in debt U.S. truly is to this segment. Information not seen on TV or heard in the news.

AFRICAN IMMIGRANT IN NEW JERSEY: A CELEBRATION What did you learn or start to think about differently Education level of Africans vs Americans Educational and skill level and the jobs they hold upon arrival to the US. Major importance of the remittance they make to their home country The negative perception that immigrants do not contribute to the economy . Africa is a diverse continent My perception of African immigrants Myths! Misconceptions.

MULTICULTURAL AWARD Willingboro Public Library is one of three libraries that won the Multicultural Program Award for 2013 THANK YOU NJSL!
