A helmet, and gloves

Bicycle repair tools (chain whip, spoke true, grease, hex wrenches)

A camel-pak is also good when you’re going long distances, otherwise a water bottle is probably fineSlide6

Mountain Biking and the EnvironmentStudies reported in the

IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association)

Trail Solutions manual found that a mountain bike's impact on a given length of trail surface is comparable to that of a hiker.

The environmental impacts of mountain biking can be greatly reduced by not riding on wet or sensitive trails, not skidding, and by staying on the trail.Mountain Biking would likely be considered a non-consumptive activity, but only when people stick to the designated trails. In some cases, people may use a mountain bike as a source of transportation, which is a good alternative to driving. Slide7
