Establishing Credentials

How the Bible was put together.

The Dead Sea Scrolls

The Apocrypha

Cults and others

Evolution and its Blasphemy. Slide3

Establishing Credentials

When examining the authenticity and absolute

authority of the

Holy Bible, it is very important that one doesn’t just examine the Holy Scriptures, but a

thorough examination of the

Teacher

.

We have already done a course on

God’s Credentials when we studied His Attributes

but what about me?

Who am I

? Why should you listen to Me?Slide4

My Credentials (non-secular)

I am a qualified teacher and have a Bachelors Degree in Education.

My specialist subject is Science ( I have also taught Maths.)

I was a qualified Science Mentor

I was also An Advanced Skills Teacher

I have been taught to teach, Teachers!!

I have not been to Bible School

(

OO!

)Slide5

My Calling

My Mentor has been the Holy Spirit.

For the first few years of my Christian life I listened/studied to over 100 hour long sermons from Roger Price on various topics (excellent Bible teacher) and others.

I have listen to and researched 100s of topics from The Word of God over the years

I am considered by others Gifted and called.Slide6

Why should you know the Bible?

But

sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and

always

be

ready to

give

a

defence

to everyone

who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you

, with

meekness

and

fear

; (1Pe 3:15)

It is every persons right on the earth to ask you about your faith.

It is also your duty to give a defence.Slide7

How can I defend what I don’t know?

Remind

them

of these things, charging

them

before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. (2Ti 2:14)

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2Ti 2:15)

But shun profane

and

idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. (2Ti 2:16

)Slide8

Christianity is not mere Blind Faith

As emphasized by theologian D. James Kennedy (Ph.D. in Religious Education),

the claim

that

belief

in

Christianity produces an irrational, uneducated, unintelligent, or unintellectual view of life is completely false.

And

the

statement

that unbelief

produces a rational and intelligent and enlightened view of the universe is equally false

.

Blind

faith,

is faith without evidence,

which would be superstition

.

The Bible does not call us to blind faith. Slide9

Reasoning

Facts

first – we go to the Bible read what God has done before.

Faith

next – God has done it before we have confidence He will/can do it again

Experience

– the nourishment for the ‘Muscle of Faith’. We get to see it!!!!Slide10

Our Faith will be attacked

People have a right to ask you about your faith and why you believe the BIBLE is

FACT.

We should be able to look to our faith and let others look at it as well.

Attacks usually come in the form of ‘Where do you think life came from’ (we will address that later).Slide11

How does the attack come?

First of all let me arm you with equally stinging quips for the unbeliever that assails you with his/her evidence.

They will attack the Bible:

They will quote Scholars and will not have researched things themselves.

All they want to do is discredit you with some article they have read that fits in with their thinking and belief (faith).Slide12
