In Scotland there is many different tartan patterns the patterns represent clans and names. Wearing a green colored tartan resembled the forest, blue tartans resembled the lakes and rivers, yellow tartans resembled crops, and in battle you wore red so the blood would not show.
Other traditional things they wear is a sporran, skean dhu, kilt hose, a bell morrow hat, and a Prince Charlie jacket.Clothing is an expression of identity because it views what kind of person they are, the Scottish people expressed the traditional clothing as a symbol of there clans and names and there heritage, also that they were from Scotland. Its important to respect other peoples cultures because that's who they are, and that’s how they live there life. Everyone has different cultures and that’s how they express themselves.
