Comparing LCD and
Plasma
LCD
PlasmaFor the LCD TVs, screens are available to a
maximum diagonal size of 60 inches. They are more expensive than the Plasma TVs. LCD TVs don`t consume as much as the Plasma TV.
There are displays with a size of almost 65 inch diagonal measurement. They
are
cheaper
than
the
LCD TVs.
Plasma display consumes
much
more
energy
than
a LCD display. Slide3
LCD
Liquid Crystal Displays
(LCD) works by filtering light when it gets an electric charge. These liquid crystal cells are placed between two glass plates and the voltage is received from a matrix composition of thin film transistors [TFT].
LCD TVs costs more than Plasma TVs and have smaller size (maximum of 60 inches).LCD displays consume 30% less than Plasma displays and they don`t have problems with Screen B
urn In/ Ghosting. Slide4

LCD
In the case of picture quality, LCD displays are more advantageous than Plasma displays , because it is
apt for public display as well as at any time of the day. They show the images with full colour detail.
The LCD is disadvantageous in playing fast movement video because, they have a motion blur and lesser time response. The blur causes the pixels to be out of their position causing the image to be blurred.Slide6

Plasma
Plasma display
, gases like xenon and neon are excited by electric pulses produced by the electrodes. This excitation causes energy to be produced in the form of light. The display also contains millions of individual pixels. They are cheaper than LCD TVs and are available in bigger sizes.
Plasma TVs needs to light up all the pixels used on the screen. This also includes the pixels that produce the dark images. This causes a lot of electricity to be wasted. Slide8
PLASMA TV- 32”Slide9
Plasma
Plasma display also
suffer with Screen Burn
In/ Ghosting. It occurs because the glass display tries to permanently etch the colour that has been displayed for a long time
. The plasma display is not so apt for computer screens as they have the problem of ghosting.Their contrast levels of playing fast videos
are way higher than any other displays they are good in displaying fast moving videos.Slide10

Decision
I`d
choose the LCD TV because it consumes less
energy, has full
color details, doesn`t
have Screen Burn In/ Ghosting and
lots
of
other
positive
factors
.
