mice” to compare to my art piece. Gorey is an exceptional artist who uses his humor in his art. Slide3
The person that I compared my artwork to was Edward
Gorey. Edward Gorey is very impactful to me. He had an amazing sense of humor and he uses it in his art. He also had a great skill of hatching that he used for shading and sometime to make it look 3D. His hatching also showed that he is an exceptional artist.

Similarities
Edward Gorey’s “X I
s For Xerxes Devoured By Mice”, compares a lot to my illustration. For example, both our pieces are mostly hatching. Also, its about a kid being alone. Finally both drawing have hatched backgrounds.Slide5
Differences
There is a lot of differences between my piece and Edward Gorey’s piece. For example my piece has two people being alone, but Gorey’s piece has one person. Also, his message is about a kid being devoured by rats. Not two kids being alone. Slide6
Reflection
If Edward Gorey were to see this piece, I don’t think he would of liked it very much because I didn’t really use a lot of detail. I also didn’t do a good job on the face of the standing boy playing Mario. Also I didn’t use hatching to show detail or very good for shading. Also my piece’s message is hard understand.
