Procedures

:

Fill the graduated cylinder to

250

ml full of water.Record the starting volume of the water in your data table.Take the non-quilted rectangle of paper towel and submerge it in the graduated cylinder. Make sure no water spills over the side of the graduated cylinder.Remove the non-quilted paper towel from the graduated cylinder.Record the ending volume of water in the graduated cylinder in the data table.Subtract the starting water volume – ending volume. This is about how many mL of water the paper towel held. Repeat 1-6 for two more trials.Repeat steps 1-6 for the quilted rectangle of paper towel.
