The Founder :

Jeni

Britton Bauer

Jeni

Bauer is a Columbus made entrepreneur who founded Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in 2002. Jeni attended The Ohio State University where she studied art. She began baking during this time and also became very interested in collecting essential oils. As her passion for essential oils continued to grow, she started to believe her career would land her in the perfume industry. However, one day while experimenting with ice cream, she found that she was able to combine her love of cooking and essential oils, when she used oils to enhance the ice cream she had made. (Jeni’s Ice Cream)

Fun Fact

: She has a daughter that attends CSG

Jeni

Bauer started her first homemade ice cream company, Scream Ice Cream, in 1996 in the North Market in Columbus, Ohio

Although this first test run did not take off, Jeni

attributes a lot of her success in Jeni’s to Scream Ice Cream because she was able work out kinks and learn from the mistakes she made while running Scream Ice Cream, along with the knowledge

Jeni

gained from working at La Chatelaine. (Jenis.com)Slide5
