You will need to reapply for a new benefit yearat the blue button atwww.filectui.com If the weekly benefit amount (WBA) of your new benefit year for regular unemployment benefits is $25 or less than what you were receiving on PEUC, CTDOL will send you a letter, notifying youthat you will be able to remain on PEUC until you exhaust all weeksor the federal program ends, and then you will be able to file under the new benefit year ---which will have the lower WBA. What if I haven’t been filing for benefits recently? If you have not been filing for benefits recently, and are not in active claim status for any UI program (such as EB, PUA, or regular unemployment benefits) for the week ending December 26, 2020, you will need to reopen your PEUC claim behind the green button on www.filectui.com . tion (PEUC).CTDOL will be sending out the following two letters: The PEUC62 letter will be sent to individuals whose most recent benefit year has expired.The 52 weeks after your claim is effective is called your benefit year and is the period of time in which you may be eligible to collect your maximum amount of regular unemployment benefits.People who receive the PEUC62 letter will need to file for a second benefit year to see if they are eligible for regular benefits, by going to the blue button on www.filectui.com to file a new claimIf eligible for regular benefits, they are not eligible for PEUCIf an individual is not eligible for a second benefit year, they may then be sent the “PEUCBX” letter, which instructs on how to file the PEUC application.The instructions inthe letter advisethemo use the greenbutton on www.filectui.com to access the PEUC program in order tofile a claim application. The PEUCBX letter will be sent to individuals whose benefit year has not yet expired, but they have collected all of their benefits for that year. ividuals who:have exhausted all rights to regular unemployment compensation (UC) under state or Federal law (excluding any benefit year that ended before July 2019); have no rights to regular UC under any other state or Federal law; are not receiving compensation under the UC laws of Canada; and are able to work, available to work, and actively seeking work(the Commissioner’s has waived the work search requirement temporarily during the COVID19 public health emergency please keep checking these FAQs for updates). Eligibility for PEUC will end when the individual qualifies for a new UC claim.Are PEUC payments federally funded? Similar to FPUC and PUA, this program is 100% federally funded. What is my weekly benefit amount (WBA) in the PEUC program?WBA is based on the regular UI claim.When does the program start and end? This program provides for up to 13 weeks of benefits beyond the customary 26 weeks to individuals who have exhausted regular unemployment benefits under state or federal law, starting week ending April 4, 2020 and ending December 26, 2020. Do I need to apply separately for the extra 13 weeks of unemployment? Yes. Individuals need to separately apply for PEUC.Are PEUC payments considered income and taxable? Yes. PEUC payments are taxable. If I receive PEUC, am I also eligible for the additional $300FPUC weekly benefit? Yes. Individuals found eligible for PEUC will also be found eligible for the additional federally funded payment (FPUC) of $600 per week
