The Situation

The overwhelming desire for healing

Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

Luke 17:11-13Slide5

A Healing and one thankful soul.

Christ heals the agonizing men

So

when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

Luke

17:14Slide6

A Healing and one thankful soul.

One soul showed thankfulness

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

Luke

17:15-16Slide7

A Healing and one thankful soul.

Oh

Luke 17:17aSlide9

Lessons for us today

Were there not ten?

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Conclusion

Does

the Christian have a reason, any reason, to thank God with the same

enthusiasm as

the Samaritan

?

And

one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

Luke

Conclusion

22 Through the Lord's mercies we are not

consumed,

Because

His compassions fail not.

23

They are new every

morning; Great

is Your faithfulness.

24

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul

, “

Therefore I hope in Him!”
