The family move near the concentration camp where Bruno’s dad is working.
One day Bruno goes for a walk and discovers the camp. He meets a boy called Shmaul
, a Jewish boy that’s living in the camp. Bruno's confused about why Shmaul is in there but Shamul doesn’t answer any questions. Bruno sends food to Schmaul until one day

invites him into the camp and Bruno accepts not knowing what's in store. They are in the camp for a few minutes when everyone is rounded up. They are told they are going for a shower and they are all

to death.
