Phytoplankton dynamics in submarine canyons in the West Antarctic Peninsula: Transcript
Filipa Carvalho Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences December 5 th 2014 Thesis Proposal Defense Committee Josh Kohut adviser Oscar Schofield adviser Maxim Gorbunov Matthew Oliver U Delaware. Rugged canyons descend to the Colorado River and contain some of the most spectacular landforms found anywhere in the country Rattlesnake Canyon Dinosaur Hill Devils Canyon and Mee Canyon are just a few of the areas that contribute to the mystery sp As part of a long-term marine water quality monitoring program, the King County Dept. of Natural Resources & Parks has collected nutrient and chlorophyll data for almost 20 years at multiple subtidal locations in the Puget Sound Central Basin (Figure 1). This monitoring program has yielded a unique dataset for evaluating the effects of both large and local scale climatic conditions on phytoplankton and nutrient dynamics. . The northern Antarctic Peninsula is an area of considerable uncertainty regarding Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) ice sheet dynamics, elevation and extent. The onshore record is uncertain and chronostratigraphy is poor. There is a need for an independent dating programme.. Venice, Italy. Peninsula of Peninsulas . General Information .
