What you may have heard

Sadly:

FALSE

At the time fiddles didn't even exist. He was also probably miles away in his villa in antium

Slide9

Even as the most Sadistic Ruler of Rome

He rushed back after he got word of the fire.

He put people up in his house and fed them as he rebuilt the city from the ground

Slide10

Though he tried to help

The people grew angry of him. He tried to shift the blame onto the Christians for the fire.

He then put tons of Christians to death in the Colosseum

The People were

FURIOUS

Nero tried to maintain a good public image but after the destruction of rome he made some bad calls. He began to Build an entirely gold house out of the ashes of the city

- After the Burning of Rome Nero blamed the Christians for the fire

- Even though many were killed Neros final days came

Slide13

NEROS FINAL DAY

- His last words were, "Qualis artifex pereo." ("What an artist the world loses in me.")

- He killed himself in 68 AD before any of the people of Rome could have taken his life.
