D 4 Divisional Spotlight Consultant Administration ODOT is an equal opportunity employer The Consultant Administration Section consists of eleven full- time employees, including seven Project Managers, one Contract Manager, one Administrative Professional and one Technical Specialist. The Consultant Administration Section is primarily responsible for the successful delivery of a quality set of construction plans for all consultant designed projects. The section is also responsible for effective consultant contract management and timely payment of consultant invoices. Each Project manager is responsible for and actively tracks and facilitates the progress of project activities for all development phases. Project managers maintain Ellis with current project schedules and identify potential problems and potential solutions. The Project Managers are responsible for the implementation of the Project Development Process for their assigned projects. In order to ensure success, these managers will notify the District Contract Manager of any necessary actions with the Consultant, such as warning letters, breach of contract and termination of services. This section is responsible for the review of plan submissions in accordance with the Scope of Services, design standards and criteria, and environmental commitments. Individual Project Managers are responsible for coordinating these reviews with the resources available. These resources include other Project Managers, Environmental, Utilities, Right of Way, Task Order contracts and Transparent Boundaries. This section is responsible for initiating the Design Value Engineering Program into the project development phase for projects estimated to exceed $45 million. The Value Engineering Program is utilized to see if there are creative solutions that haven’t been considered in the design that would result in a Manager is responsible for supplying the study team any necessary project materials. The Project Managers are responsible for collecting the necessary feedback from multiple departments, and entering consultant evaluations into the system upon completion of the contract. Consultant Letters of Interest (LOI) are submitted for upcoming projects through the Consultant Services System. The Contract Manager will review the LOI’s for conformity to the programmatic requirements, and prepare documentation for the District Deputy Director, P&E Administrator and Consultant Administration Manager for evaluation. The District Contract Manager will schedule a meeting between the parties to determine the short-listed consultants for each programmatic project. Once the short-list is determined, the District Deputy Director, P&E Administrator and Consultant Administration Manager and other key staff members will further review the proposals. This complex project was managed by our Consultant Administration Section. The Main/Broadway interchange project is a vital transportation element along I-76. This interchange is the gateway to downtown Akron for its 30,000 workers and the University of Akron and its 28,000 students. As a result, it is imperative that the • Ramp spacing • Substandard curves and ramps • Substandard accel and decel lane lengths • Inadequate bridge clearance • Inadequate sight distance Consultant Administration Oversees Design Main/Broadway Project in Akron The project is currently reconstructing the I-76 Main/Broadway Interchange, including ramps and bridges as well as the removal of I-76/Wolf Ledges/Grant St. Interchange. Currently, Broadway Ave. is one way heading north into the city and Main St. is one way heading south coming out of the city. During the 2017 construction season, Main St. is going to be widened from Bartges

3 St. to Miller St. utilizing part width
St. to Miller St. utilizing part width construction while maintaining two Main St. and from this point forward Ledges Bridge and Grant St. bridges over I-76 will also be replaced. Next year, a new westbound off ramp to Broadway St. will be constructed as well as the removal of Broadway Ave. under I-76. South St. will also be realigned to the west. The Main/Broadway project will separate the I-76 westbound off ramp and South Street. To the east, the Main/ Broadway project will eliminate the existing at grade railroad crossing along South St. by building a bridge to span the railroad tracks. Also during the 2018 construction season, the eastbound lanes of the interstate will be reconstructed along with the bridge over Main Street. During the 2019 construction season. The westbound lanes will be reconstructed along with the bridge over Main St. Dan Depto, Transportation Engineer 3 , is the Project Engineer for the Main/Broadway project from the Consultant Administration Section. This section of roadway has addressed in the project including: (Pictured above and below) The I-76/Main/ Broadway project is going strong as work progresses smoothly.
