The “Campus Nomad” is mobile within the boundaries of the enterprise. This is most common in healthcare, retail and manufacturing environments.

Avaya offers two IP-based solutions focused on this segment:

IP Wireless Telephones

Offers high-quality, easy-to-use, secure voice communications with application support over either a shared or dedicated WLAN network

IP DECT

Offers low-cost, secure, high-quality, voice-only communications over a dedicated DECT networkSlide3

Product Details

Avaya IP Wireless Telephone solutions integrate with Avaya IP Telephony solutions over 802.11a/b/g networks and can scale to support very large numbers of mobile users.

Industry-standard

802.11 network compatibility provides end-users with the efficiency of converged voice and data on a single wireless infrastructure.

They

also gain access to powerful IP Telephony features while on the move. This enables them to make and receive calls while mobile, put calls on hold, transfer calls or conference in other associates.

Avaya offers several options to meet the needs of small to large enterprises working across many different industries

Introducing “Universal” Handsets

As of January 2013, Avaya is offering “Universal” handsets.

3641/6120 share the same visual appearance. 3645/6140 share the same visual appearance.

3641/3645 are pre-loaded with H.323 software for operation on Communication Manager and IP Office

6120/6140 are pre-loaded with UNIStim software for operation on Communication Server 1000, Business Communication Manager, and Communication Server 2100

All models can load either H.323 or UNIStim or SIP software.

Allows customers to continue to use their same handset should they migrate to a different Avaya platform in the future.

There is no change to order codes. Older handsets which are returned for repair may be replaced by Universal handsets.Slide5

allows Avaya IP 3645/6140 IP Wireless Telephones to operate in a group broadcast mode that allows the handsets to behave like walkie-talkies, where a single handset can transmit to multiple listeners.
