The loss of land and people caused Hungary to become broke and was unable to pay for reparations.

Hungary’s army was forced to become smaller. 35,000 volunteers. Must be lightly armed.

This treaty caused many problems for Hungary.

Self-Determination

There were many nations that had wanted to be free and rule themselves. This is exactly what Self Determination is;the idea that countries create their own state, and choose their own government. Self Determination was a major factor in the World War 1.

Woodrow Wilson has listed self determination as one of the post world war objectives to complete.

This was seen as a peace aim after WWI

Caused problems in the future.

Created new nation-states in Eastern Europe from what was known as the Austro-Hungarian Empire
