Cheetah Population vs. Springbok Population

Intro

In this project we observed the effect the cheetah population had on the springbok population.

We discovered that through this the correlation between the two is positively moderate.Slide3

Data Set

The sample is the annual world population data form 1975-1998

The individuals were the Cheetah’s and Springbok

The variables is the world population for the Cheetah to SpringbokSlide4

Analysis of r &

𝑟^

2 = 0.558

r = 0.747

Both are positive making correlation moderate

Most of the points on the graph are moderately in range with the line of regression, so there is some correlation there.Slide7

Prediction

When the Cheetah population is 19,600 the Springbok population will be 6,500

The equation we used to make the prediction is y = 5.198(19,600) – 95,586.

The answer we got was 6,294.8 which is 200 below our actual hypothesis making it relatively close.Slide8

Conclusion

As the Cheetah population decreased, the Springbok population increased.

The Cheetah population does have a moderate close relationship with the Springbok population.

Our original hypothesis was proven wrong through our data.

The ending result was that the population between the

two is

a positive correlation.Slide9
