She has one brother (Craig Robinson)

She attended Bryn

Elementary school and Whitney Young High School and was always placed in gifted classes

She graduated in 1981 as the salutatorian of her class

Michelle attended Princeton University along with her older brother Craig

She majored in sociology and minored in African American studies, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985

She then moved on to Harvard Law School where she earned her J.D degree in 1988

While at Princeton and Harvard Michelle was heavily involved with groups and associations.

While working at Sidley Austin Law Firm, 25 year old Michelle met 28 year old Barack Hussein Obama when she began mentoring him. 1989

Barack asked Michelle on their first date one month into meeting

Three years later on October 3, 1992 the pair were happily married

They had two beautiful girls together. Sasha and Malia Obama

Her husband Barack Obama became President of the United States on November 4, 2008

This now made her The First Lady of the United States

IMPACT

Michelle saw this as an opportunity to support and inspire young people

In 2010 She launched

Lets Move!

Which brought together leaders, educators, and medical professionals in a nationwide effort to address childhood obesity

In 2014 she launched the Reach Higher Initiative, an effort to inspire young people to take charge of their future by completing their education beyond high school.

She also helped military families who were in need

Being the First Lady of the United States is already a huge position to have in America and Michelle Obama utilized that position to make an impact. She actually used her time in office to make a difference rather than just being there for pictures with Obama. She inspires so many African American women across America to follow their dreams and to always let their voice be heard. Although she is not in office now, she sill continues to run her organizations and speaks to groups of children about following their dreams. Michelle Obama definitely broke the barrier in American Politics
