BUTLER ELECTRIC RATES Listed below are the rate codes that appear on your monthly electric bill. The base rate portion of your electric bill (which is the first amount shown on the charges portion of your bill) is the charge to maintain the distribution system that delivers electricity to your home or business. This charge includes the purchase and maintenance of poles, wire, line trucks, transformers, electric substations, and employee salaries to name a few items. The LEAC portion is strictly the energy charges Butler Electric pays to buy power. These costs are a pass through of charges paid to procure electricity. TEFA is a tax mandated by the State of NJ which is collected by Butler Electric and passed directly to the state. BASE RATES CHARGES E01 – Commercial Base Rate Base Charge 0-15 kWh $4.34 flat rate 16-2000 kWh $0.061261 per kWh Over 2000 kWh $0.034077 per kWh E02 – All Electric Base Rate Base Charge 0-130 kWh $12.19 flat rate Over 130 kWh $0.024802 per kWh E03 – 400 Watt Floodlight Base Rate $9.44 per month E04 – 250 Watt Floodlight Base Rate $7.74 per month E05 – 175 Watt Floodlight Base Rate $7.60 per month E06 – 100 Watt Floodlight Base Rate $5.40 per month E07 – 70 Watt Floodlight Base Rate $4.93 per month E09 – Residential Base Rate Base Charge 0-15 kWh

This charge includes transmission charges, demand charges, etc which are set by both State and Federal agencies. EAC – LEAC (energy) Charge for all customers $0.126633 per kWh TEFA Transitional Energy Facility Assessment is a TAX imposed by the State of NJ on all utilities. Money collected by Butler Electric under this billing code is paid directly to the State of NJ. 04981 per kWh New Jersey Sales Tax (7%) as mandated by the State of NJ. All monies collected under this item are directly passed to the State of NJ. Butler Electric strives to continue to provide you with reliable and quick service at the lowest possible cost. Listed below are the explanations of the billing descriptions: E01-E09 Base Rate charge – This charge covers all costs (excluding energy) associated with running the Electric Utility. These costs include salaries for office and linework personnel, cost of wire, poles and transformers, postage and capital investment such as substations. T01-T10 TEFA – Transitional Energy Facility Assessment is a TAX imposed by the State of NJ on all utilities. Money collected by Butler Electric under this billing code is paid directly to the State of NJ EAC Levelized Energy Adjustment Charge – is your cost for energy. Butler Electric purchases all of its power through wholesale contracts and the cost is directly passed onto the customer. This charge is adjusted quarterly and is based on the amount of energy used over the past 12 months by all of the customers within the Butler Electric service area. TAX New Jersey Sales Tax (7%) as mandated by the State of NJ. All monies collected under this item are directly passed to the State of NJ.
