By Rodman (Rod) Philbrick“I wrote this because Max, the mighty half of Freak the Mighty, insisted and he’s bigger than I am.” Inspired by his son’s friend who died with the same medical condition as Freak, but had a different personality. “It was my way of dealing with the loss.” He wrote the entire novel in one draft in about six weeks.Slide2
