Slide1

Materials Technology Analysis of objective and subjective properties of materials used in the development of technological products.

What is meant by

properties that can be measured objectively?

Objective properties are the physical properties of materials that relate to the performance of a product, water resistance, corrosion resistance, durability which make them work.

What is meant by

properties that can be measured subjectively?

Subjective properties are usually reliant on peoples perception and generally allow the product to be accepted by the user , colour, Smell, feel, environmentally friendly etc.

Slide2

Objective vs. Subjective

Objective

What materials combine to make this product technically function?

Subjective

What materials are perceived as being acceptable or not acceptable to the user. Slide3
