Leibfritz | 121.04.03-Test Infrastructure 4 121.04.06 Inst - Beam Commissioning ( Comm ) Beam commissioning of the accelerator sections (WFE, SCL, BTL/BAL), including beam commissioning of booster. Final deliverable is a machine achieving KPPs that is handed off to operations. 121.04.06.01 Inst - Comm - Project Management and Coordination (PM) Project management for commissioning including the oversight and coordination of the technical effort, project planning and scheduling, cost estimating, risk and contingency analysis, and reporting. Includes travel costs for management, technical coordination, and vendor visits. 121.04.06.02 Inst - Comm - PIP2IT Development of the beam commissioning plan and conduct beam commissioning of the WFE/HWR/protoSSR1 at PIP2IT. 121.04.06.03 Inst - Comm - PIP-II Development of beam commissioning plan of the PIP-II (WFE SCL BAL BTL). Includes the planning, development and optimization of the high level applications to be used during beam commissioning. It also includes costs associated with the setup of control room at PIP-II Linac Gallery, assembly of the diagnostic carts, installation of temporary shielding within the beamline enclosure to support staged beam commissioning. It also includes beam commissioning of booster until reach KPP.

It includes the development of the Conceptual Design Report, Technical Design Report, and analysis of ongoing beam efforts and measurements. 121.04.07.01 Inst - AP - Project Management and Coordination (PM) Project management for the Accelerator Physics efforts including the oversight and coordination of the technical effort, project planning and scheduling, cost estimating, risk and contingency analysis, and reporting. Includes travel costs for management, technical coordination, and vendor visits. 121.04.07.02 Inst - AP - Accelerator Physics Studies Accelerator Physics Studies work is associated with development and maintenance of the linac beam lattice, perform beam simulations and post beam analysis. It also includes effort associated with development of project technical reports. 121.04.07.03 Inst - AP - Shielding Assessment (Shld) Analysis of hazards associated with beam and equipment induced radiation, development of requirements for shielding and other mitigations, effort to prepare reports of such studies, communication to the Radiation Shielding Assessment Panel, RSO, and other Safety Regulators to approve shielding design.

Leibfritz | 121.04.03-Test Infrastructure 10 # Scope Threshold KPP Objective KPP 1 SRF Linac Beam Energy 600  MeV 800  MeV 2 Linac Beam Beam delivered to the Beamline Dump 5.4E12 particles per pulse (H-) at 20 Hz beam delivered to the Beamline Dump 3 Booster/Recycler/Main Injector upgrades Booster injection region, Recycler RF upgrades, and Main Injector RF upgrades, hardware installed and tested without beam in respective machines. Linac beam injected and circulated in the Booster  4 Cryogenic Infrastructure Cryogenic plant and associated distribution system are installed and capable to support cavities operation at 2 K Cryogenic system installed and is capable to support Linac operation in CW mode

Shielding Assessment Will Be Conducted by MARS Group The estimate assumes that the shielding analysis will be conducted by the MARS group with assistance from dedicated PIP2 personnel. Preliminary agreement from MARS group receivedThe estimate for the analysis effort was provided by the MARS group and was based on experience with the analyses conducted by the group in support of ESS.
