with a range of courses and work-based training, 1:1 support and advice, specially created opportunities, and access to a network of peers, mentors and employers. We help
employers
to recruit creative, diverse and talented young Londoners, and work in partnership with them to create bespoke initiatives producing talent pipelines into the creative industries.
Since its inception in 2011, Create Jobs has been delivered in partnership by A New Direction (London’s flagship creative and cultural education agency), and Create London (a creative
organisation that brings artists and communities together).
Slide7OUR VISION – We want to see…
A thriving, open and diverse creative industries for talented young Londoners.
Slide8OUR MISSION

Slide9OUR AIMS
To ensure the right opportunities are available for talented young Londoners to succeed in the creative industries, opening doors and diversifying the workforce. To support creative, diverse and talented young Londoners to find the work, training and opportunities that are right for them.
Slide10WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
http://www.nesta.org.uk/sites/default/files/creativity_vs._robots_wv.pdfThe creative industries are important
1 in 6 jobs in London is in the creative industries, generating £68.4bn for the UK economy per yearIn 2017, the creative industries became one the government’s top 5 key sectors for industrial strategy
Research suggests that in the face of growing automation and the advance of technology, creative jobs are more likely to remain ‘future proof’*
However…
Slide11THERE IS A SKILLS GAP
Education doesn’t always prepare young people for the world of work – least of all in the creative industries.Careers advice is disconnected to the industry and lacks understanding of the types of roles and opportunities availableDegrees are now unaffordable for many, and do not create work-ready graduates
The creative industries can prove hard to get into for those without connections
The challenge
We need to support and develop creative, diverse and talented young Londoners to become the workforce of the future and sustain London as a world-class hub for culture and creativity.

It was such a great experience, I learnt so much and challenged myself. I’ve done so many things I wouldn’t have imagined myself doing. I have a much better understanding of the industry and have made some good contacts. I feel much more confident about starting my career, hard work really does pay off.

“
I now spend my day thinking of advertising solutions and ideas for clients like Nivea, BMW, Zumba and
Havaianas
, I've finally launched Network & Chill and I've hit 10,000+ subscribers on YouTube. I still can't quite believe it myself! I get paid to think of ideas? Is that even a thing?
None of this would have been achievable without Create Jobs. The lovely team behind Creativity Works stepped in at the right time, put me in contact with Kati Russell and Natalie
Rodden at The Girlhood and let the magic happen. They've supported me since and championed all of my achievements, great or small.
