Start At The Edges
Use an Edger or a trimmer to edge along walkways and borders
Always wear eye protection and hearing protection as needed
Hold trimmer so that you can walk forward and edge at the same time
Edge entire perimeter of lawn first
Trim around interior objects (trees, fence posts,
etc
) last using a string trimmer
Do not hit tree trunks with string trimmer line-It will damage the tree!Slide7

Make sure mower is at proper height.
Start by mowing around the perimeter of the lawn
Slow and steady pace
Mow the interior portion of the lawn following whichever pattern you chose—No Rules!
Do not bag grass clippings, Mulch instead.
