STEWARDSHIP WEEK OF PRAYER:

DAY 3

TEXT: GENESIS 1:28

THEME: IT’S DOMINION AND NOT OWNERSHIP…

TOPIC: Whose Is My/Our Body….?

Part B. For What Use Is Our Body?

Welcome To Day ThreeSlide3

What Do We Cover Our Body With…?

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

2:25 And they were

both naked

, the man and his wife, and were not

ashamed.

Slide4

Genesis 3:6

Gen. 3:7

And the eyes of them both were

opened

, and

they knew that they [were]

naked

;

and

they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons

.

verse 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:

and

Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Slide5

Robes of Ignorance…….

Had Adam and Eve never disobeyed their Creator, had they remained in the path of perfect rectitude, they could have known and understood God.

But when they listened to the voice of the tempter, and sinned against God, the light of the garments of heavenly innocence departed from them; and in parting with the garments of innocence, they drew about them the dark robes of ignorance of God. Slide6

The clear and perfect light that had hitherto surrounded them had lightened everything they approached; but deprived of that heavenly light, the posterity of Adam could no longer trace the character of God in His created works . {1BC 1084.6} Slide7

Who Controls Your Preference?

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

We should seek to make the best of our appearance. In the tabernacle service God specified every detail concerning the garments of those who ministered before Him.

Thus we are taught that He has a preference in regard to the dress of those who serve Him.Slide8

Our Dress Should Be Symbolic…!!

Very specific were the directions given in regard to Aaron's robes, for his dress was symbolic. So the dress of Christ's followers should be symbolic.

In all things we are to be representatives of Him

.

Our appearance in every respect should be characterized by neatness, modesty, and purity

. {

The Guiding Principles in Dress

The dress and its arrangement upon the person is generally found to be

the index of the man or the woman.

{

CCh

180.4}

We judge of a person's character by the style of dress worn

.

A modest, godly woman will dress modestly

.

A refined taste, a

cultivated mind

, will be revealed in the choice of a

simple, appropriate attire.Slide10

Characterized By Moral Worth

The one who is simple and unpretending in her dress and in her manners shows that she understands that a true woman is characterized by moral worth.

How charming, how interesting, is simplicity in dress, which in comeliness can be compared with the flowers of the field! {CC

h 180.5}Slide11

Let’s Conform To God's Word…!

If the world introduce a modest, convenient, and healthful mode of dress,

which is in accordance with the Bible,

it will

not change our relation to God or to the world

to adopt such a style of dress.

Christians should follow Christ and make their

dress conform to God's Word. {

CCh

Our reasonable service……!

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice,

Fear God

, and

give glory

to him; for the hour of

his judgment

is come:

and

worship him

that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Slide13

The Typical Day Of Atonement

We are in the………. “great and solemn day when the

characters

and the

lives

of men should pass in review before the Judge of all the earth, and to every man should be rendered "according to his works…”……………{GC 479.2} Slide14

A Leaving Sacrifice

P

salms 19:1-4 Romans

12:1-2

,, 1Cor. 4:9,

phill

. 2:12-13

What does God accomplish, and what does He demand of us individually in the work of saving ourselves?

God

works in us by the light of His truth, which

lighteneth

every man that cometh into the world. Slide15

What is the body for…?

1corinthians 6:13

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them.

Now

the body [is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Verse 18 Flee

fornication.

Every

sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that

committeth

fornication

sinneth

against his own body.Slide16

Good Fruits the Proof

Man

, fallen man, may be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that he can "prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

How does he prove this?

By

the Holy Spirit taking possession of his mind, spirit, heart, and character

.Slide17

Your Sanctification, The Lord’s Will

1 Thessalonians 4:3

For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4:4 That

every one of you should know how to

possess his vessel in sanctification and

honour

;

4:5 Not

in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

Slide18

Called To Holiness….!

1 Thessalonians 4:6

That no [man] go beyond and defraud his brother in [any] matter: because that the Lord [is] the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

4:7 For God hath not called us unto

uncleanness, but unto holiness

.

4:8 He therefore that

despiseth

,

despiseth

not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holySlide19

1

thesalonians

5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

.Slide20

The Whole Man to Be Sanctified.--

The

truth must sanctify the whole man--his mind, his thoughts, his heart, his strength

.

His vital powers will not be consumed upon his own lustful practices

.

These must be overcome, or they will overcome him (Letter 108, 1898). Slide21

To Obey [Is] Better Than Sacrifice,

When men and women are truly converted, they will conscientiously regard the laws of life that God has established in their being, thus seeking to avoid physical, mental, and moral feebleness.

Obedience to these laws must be made a matter of personal duty.

We ourselves must suffer the ills of violated law.

We must answer to God for our habits and practices. Slide22

Origin of Impure Acts

.

None can glorify God in their body, as He requires, while they are living in transgression of the law of God

.

If the body violates the seventh commandment, it is through the dictation of the mind

.

If the mind is impure, the body will naturally engage in impure acts

.

Purity cannot exist in the soul of one who yields his body to impure acts. Slide23

Instruments Of Righteousness Unto God. . . .

If the body is serving lust, the mind cannot maintain consecration to God

.

To preserve a sanctified mind, the body must be preserved in sanctification and honor.

The

mind will then serve the law of God, and yield willing obedience to all its claims

.,

with the apostle, such can yield their members as instruments of righteousness unto God. . . . {TSB 100.1}Slide24

How shall I treat the habitation God has given me?

Therefore, the question for us is not, "What will the world say?" but, "How shall I, claiming to be a Christian, treat the habitation God has given me? Shall I work for my highest temporal and spiritual good by keeping my body as a temple for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, or

shall I sacrifice myself to the world's ideas and practices?"

{CD 18.4}Slide25

Our bodies belong to Him

1 Cor.

3:19-18

Strength

is a talent, and is to be used to glorify God. Our bodies belong to Him.

He has paid the price of redemption for the body as well as for the soul. . . .

We can serve God better in the vigor of health than in the palsy of disease; therefore we should cooperate with God in the care of our bodies

.Slide26

Ingredients of life……

Love for God is essential for life and health.

Faith in God is essential for health.

In order to have perfect health, our hearts must be filled with love and hope and joy in the Lord. . . . {CS 115.3}Slide27

Finally…..!!!!!!!!!

Proverbs 1:23

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded

;

1:33 But whoso

hearkeneth

unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
