slide1. An interview with Liam Neeson Liam Neeson was born in Northern Ireland. He has appeared in many well-known films including ‘Schindler’s List’ and ‘Star Wars- The Phantom Menace’<br>
slide2. b)(1). Were you very spoilt? Interviewer: Liam Neeson, you grew up in a house full of women. You had three elder sisters and you were the baby brother.
Liam Neeson: No, I wasn’t. My sisters seem to think I was, but I certainly wasn’t! We all had our chores to do. Mine were sweeping the back yard, bringing in the coal for the fire and getting the groceries.<br>
slide3. Interviewer: (2)……………………………….? Liam Neeson: I suppose it’s true to a certain extent. There was a girl in my school, Elizabeth, who was the star actress in our school plays. One term, our English teacher was doing a play which Elizabeth was in. So I went along to the audition and got a part. That’s where my interest in acting began.<br>
slide4. Interviewer: You’re the father now of two young sons. There’s a bog debate in Britain at the moment about how little time fathers spend with their children. I think it’s an average of fifteen minutes a day. (3)...................................................?
Liam Neeson: Absolutely, yes. And I love doing it. It’s the most natural thing in the world. I think it’s important to remember that children grow up so quickly, you know! I was reading the other day about a writer who was typing a story and his kid was outside saying, ‘Dad, come and play baseball.’ He said, ‘Yes, I’ll be there in a minute. I have to finish this.’ And of course the hours passed and he got the story finished on time but the kid was in bed. That’s a moment he’ll never get back again. And that struck a chord with me, so I try to play with my kids when they ask. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing.<br>

Liam Neeson: Very much so. Absolutely . I’m very conscious of the problem of violence in films and on television. My father’s generation was worried about the influence of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Now it’s violent films and awful video games where if you kill someone you get 300 points and then move on to the next game. It’s just terrifying. So yes, I’m very aware of the images that I’m involved in on the screen.<br>
