slide2. What is IARCcrgTools? Tool to convert and check data collected by cancer registries.

The tool uses computer algorithms to detect unlikely or impossible codes, or combinations of codes, and a conversion program to convert from various ICDs and ICD-Os.

A technical report is available through the IACR website.

The latest version (v. 2.13) was released in 2018 and accounts for the new morphology codes from the first revision of ICD-O-3 (ICD-O-3.1). IARC Caribbean Cancer Registry Hub Webinar<br>

slide6. Conversion program (ICD-O-3 to ICD-10) Converts files coded by ICD-O third edition, 1st revision (2013) to ICD-10 2010 Edition.

Three files are created
The Error file (.eO3to10) contains records that cannot be converted such as erroneous ICD-O-3 codes, invalid sex/site combinations or invalid topography/morphology combinations;
The Warning file (.wO3to10) contains records that should be reviewed for optimal coding;
The Output file (.prn) contains acceptable records with the ICD-10 code appended to the end of each record. IARC Caribbean Cancer Registry Hub Webinar<br>

slide10. Multiple primary program Batch program that detects multiple primaries following the IARC/IACR rules and excludes duplicate registrations.

The identification code must identify the patient and cannot exceed 15 characters (numeric or not).

The program processes only malignant cases (/3), and benign (/0) or uncertain behavior (/1) tumors of the brain and CNS (C70-72), and uncertain (/1) or in situ (/2) tumors of the bladder (C67) IARC Caribbean Cancer Registry Hub Webinar<br>

slide13. Multiple primary program Three files are created
The Error file (.exl) contains records with a non-malignant behavior code;
The Multiple primary file (.mul) contains the duplicate records, and indicates which of them are multiple primaries following the IARC/IACR rules or duplicate registrations that should be excluded. This file is created only if you checked the "Write duplicate records into a separate file" option; IARC Caribbean Cancer Registry Hub Webinar<br>

slide15. Multiple primary program Three files are created (cont.)
The Ouput file has the same format as the input file but does not contain the erroneous records identified in the Error file. If you did not check the "Write duplicate records into a separate file" option, then a number is written at the end of each record indicating a valid record (0) or a duplicate registration (value greater than 0).
