By the end of this series you will have: An understanding of the relationship between religion and multiculturalism; A basic understanding of the major faith traditions in Canada; Some practical tips for managing and discussing interfaith issues in the workplace, schools, and other shared community spaces. Three Part Series This series begins with an introduction to the major concepts of pluralism, multicultural, and religion, moves into the tenets, beliefs, practices, and peoples' lived experiences of major faith traditions practiced in Canada today, and finally explores how to manage conflict that may arise from religious traditions in the workplace, in schools, and communities. Part 1 - Introductory Concepts Module 1: Pluralism and Multiculturalism Module 2: What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Religion? Three Part Series Continued Part 2 - Major Religions and Spiritual Traditions in Canada Module 3: Judaism, Christianity, Islam Module 4: Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism Module 5: Baha'i Faith and Indigenous Spirituality Part 3 - Navigating Religion in Workplaces, Schools, and Communities Module 6: Religious Accommodations Module 7: Competing Rights Series Source Materials Much of the content in the first 5 modules has been adapted from The Canadian Race Relations Foundation's 2014 publication, Our Canada: A practical guide to bridging faith with Canadian identity, human rights, belonging and values. Material was revised to include: more up-to-date content ; sources speaking to the diversity within each faith; and videos, articles, and artistic contributions reflecting the lived experiences of practitioners. Several of the videos in Part 2 are taken from the The Prayer Project, a collaboration between The National Film Board and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
