Jack Killeen My exchange program to… Vienna, Austria Vienna University of Economics Located in the 2nd district of Vienna with a metro line on campus which allows easy access to the other district in the city (at most 30 minutes to any destination). The school provides train passes for the two weeks you are there. You will take the train almost exclusively and it is the best metro that I have experienced. Ideal living locations: Bassena Hotel or MileStone dorms MileStone provides essentials, except a towel What I wish I had known before booking MileStone: Have to check-in on a weekday during office hours About thirty students in the program from all over the world Campus has about 1,000 students on site allowing you to experience the full culture WU has to offer Vienna, Austria – May 2024 Vienna, Austria – May 2024 Dress Code Business casual for the first and last days Most students wore business casual to casual clothes to each class. Men wore slacks or jeans everyday. Pack a swimsuit, rain jacket, and spring-like clothes. You have the opportunity to swim in the Danube! Be prepared for temperature fluctuations (e.g., wearing/removing a sweater) Unexpected Rainy Wine Hike Final Presentation Vienna, Austria – May 2024 Daily Schedule Intense educational program with a group presentation on the final Friday Weekdays spent in class from 9:00am to 1:00pm, afternoon hours dedicated to group work Presentation is similar to a consulting exercise for a real-world company Fifteen minutes presenting, fifteen minutes Q&A Teams are five members each Top Tips for an Unforgettable Vienna Experience Connect with the Locals: Forge friendships and dive into the vibrant Viennese culture. I left the city with close friends from Vienna, Germany, Argentina, and Tunisia! Plenty of people to meet and learn from. Culinary Adventure: The food is not the Wurst! Indulge in a culinary journey through Vienna's diverse dining scene, there is something there for everyone. Cultural Immersion: Discover the city's rich history and captivating museums. Vienna has had an incredible history and the walking tour of the city was exceptionally interesting. It is easy in this city to put yourself in the shoes of someone from 80 years ago. Savor Local Brews: Delight in tasting Vienna's finest beers and experience the local brewery culture. Valuable Tips! What was the most culturally challenging part of this experience? The most culturally challenging part of my trip
