slide1. May 13, 2025 Southern California Edison Program Year 2024 (PY2024) Demand Response Portfolio Overview Presented By: Aimee Wong, Senior Advisor, SCE DR Portfolio Support
slide2. SCE is one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, providing electric service to approximately 15 million people through 5 million customer accounts
SCE’s service area includes portions of 15 counties and hundreds of cities and communities in a 50,000-square-mile service area within Central, Coastal and Southern California About SCE 1
slide3. Electrifying the economy with clean power is society’s most effective tool for rapidly reducing carbon emissions
Nearly all economic sectors will need to rely on clean electricity to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and delivering 100% carbon-free power to SCE customers by 2045 Clean Energy Future 2
slide4. SCE forecasts over 600 MW in potential peak load demand reduction for 2025
There are almost 2.2 million customers (~1.9M residential and ~0.3M non-residential) enrolled between all of SCE’s DR programs, contract, rates, and pilots SCE’s Demand Response Portfolio 3
slide5. SCE’s DR portfolio is expected to decline, particularly in 2028 due to the potential discontinuation of the ELRP Pilot

SEP enrollments are forecasted to increase quite dramatically over time, while SDP-R enrollments wane. In effect, the growth in one program will offset the decline in the other. Because both are residential AC programs, they have very similar load reduction potential, so the substitution over time nets out to minor decreases in portfolio impacts over time SCE’s Demand Response Portfolio Continued 4
slide6. SCE’s Demand Response Portfolio Continued Load impacts primarily comes from SCE’s supply-side DR programs and contracts
Load impacts delivered by the portfolio vary throughout the year, peaking in the summer months (Note: weather-sensitive residential AC cycling and thermostat programs can only deliver load reductions during periods of cooling which contributes to the peak observed in the June-September months)
The majority of SCE’s portfolio comes from the BIP, which can be dispatched any time of the year (BIP customers are typically large customers with industrial processes that dominate any cooling loads that they have, meaning that seasonal changes other than temperature tend to influence the amount of load shed available) 5
