Operator Licensing October 2020 SCHMELZER Environmental Technologies, LLC Agenda Licensing Requirements License Upgrade(s) Exams What to Expect on Exams Example Exam Questions SCHMELZER Environmental Technologies, LLC How to apply for licensure by examination or reinstatement: Complete application; Submit with check or money order for $50; Applications can be submitted online or via mail; Completed applications must include a copy of your social security card and a valid driver’s license, state issued ID, or passport. Licensing Requirements SCHMELZER Environmental Technologies, LLC 3 How to apply for licensure by Reciprocity: Complete application; Submit with check or money order for $50; Applications can be submitted online or via mail; Completed applications must include a copy of your social security card and a valid driver’s license, state issued ID, or passport. Board staff will request appropriate information your current state in order to determine eligibility. Licenses in other states must be active; inactive licenses cannot be used in determining reciprocity. SCHMELZER Environmental Technologies, LLC Upon receipt of a completed application, a trainee license will be issued. Trainees must pay the annual renewal fee ($30) each year by June 30th. Failure to do so will result in a $200 penalty for late renewals. Trainee license holders will have two (2) years in which to pass the ‘D’ level examination. Failure to pass the exam within the two-year window will result in the license being rendered inactive and the applicant will be required to re-apply. If re-application is necessary, the operator forfeits the work experience time acquired under the expired license. Work experience time will begin again starting with the new application date. There is no minimum education requirement for certification as a trainee. However, proof of high school completion or the equivalent must be submitted prior to being promoted to the “D” level of certification. After the trainee has obtained one year of actual operating experience and has passed the “D” exam, the trainee will be eligible for a license upgrade.
