Program Overview State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) Funded in part by a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Three Goals 1) Increase the number of small businesses that export 2) Increase the value of exports 3) Increase the number of small businesses exploring significant new trade opportunities Guidelines Minimum / Maximum Award Amounts Minimum Award = $2,000 Maximum Award = $10,000 35% cash match requirement Required Reporting Up to 4 reports will be required Financial Assistance Award (FAA) Financial Assistance Award (FAA) Refer to FAA Guidelines – Section G Program Limitations One application for up to $10,000 on a single project per application period Maximum of 3 Financial Assistance Awards during the grant period, September 30, 2018 – September 29, 2020 Same project may not be funded more than a total of three (3) times per company Eligible Applicants Refer to FAA Guidelines - Section C Self-Representation as an “Eligible Small Business Concern” Organization/Corporation in US Operates in US Meets Size Standards NAICS Size Chart 1 year in business Resources to fund export Request your grant portal login as soon as possible but at least a 48 hours before application deadline Email: tina.salisbury@commerce.Idaho.gov If you have previously applied for a grant through the portal you will use that same login You can reset your password on the login screen Best practice – download budget first from the STEP webpage Idaho Grants Portal Apply Online!
