Student Leadership 2022 - 2023 In September we asked you to step forward 27 KS4 students stepped up 19 KS3 students stepped up These students have been involved in Supporting open evening New staff interviews Student panels Representing the school in the community Supporting parents evenings Tours of the school Community projects around developing the parks in Crewe Reforming the school rewards system Developing antibullying policies Developing the school garden Liaising with our local MP Organising charity days Through this active participation they are automatically: Developing employability skills Working on their leadership skills Developing communication skills Developing team work skills Building their CV Making a positive contribution to your environment This is a brilliant start….. But we want to do more….. 2022 – 2023 leadership is changing After consulting with student leaders and senior leaders in the school we are making the below changes which is for the benefit of ALL of you. CHARACTER PROGRAMME Careers & Finance Health Aspirations Responsibility Active Citizenship Tolerance Emotional intelligence Relationships Developing students to become independent, confident, healthy and responsible members of society, as well as developing the “whole child” intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually. We want to support you in developing skills that will benefit you across the curriculum and beyond in later life. We aim to provide you with a strong understanding of the diverse world around you and support you in playing a positive role in contributing to the school and the wider community. Student Leaders Students from year 7-11 Students will join the team through an application process Senior Student leaders from KS4 will be recognised by their purple tie Senior Student leaders will be given the opportunity to apply for Head Student (2 positions) KS3 student leaders will be recognised by their badge ALL students leaders will be supported in a Student Leadership accreditation programme in September. As well as all the projects already listed we want to empower student leaders to become involved in projects such as: Contributing to the school newsletter Having a say in policy and decision making Presenting to Senior leaders and Governing Body Representing the school at local primary schools, community events Lead Student Voice Raise money for charity and school projects Student Ambassadors Students from year 7-11 Show a commitment towards a club or key groups in school eg: LGBTQ club, Represent the school at sporting events, Creative Writing club, Politics club, art
