Activity 1 Watch the video link below to hear a reading of ‘Tell Me a Dragon’ by author Jackie Morris.

Have a discussion with somebody at home to answer the following questions about the book:
Why might it be called, ‘Tell me a dragon’? What else might the book have been called?
What do you know about each dragon and their appearance? How do the illustrations support this?
Which dragon is your favourite? Can you describe your favourite dragon?
If you had your own dragon, what would it be called and where would it live? How would it behave?<br>

Activity 2 Create your own dragon world!
Look at how Jackie (the author and illustrator) drew the background landscapes in the story – rolling hills and cities, complete with turrets, towers and castles.
Think about what things you would have in the background of your own dragon world.
Design, sketch, colour or paint your own dragon world.

Activity 3 Design and create your own dragon!
Use Jackie’s illustrations from within the story to give you inspiration to design and create your own dragon.
Draw, sketch, colour or paint your dragon and then make it a Dragon Passport. You can use the template or create one of your own.<br>

Activity 4 Your dragon has gone missing!
Create your own ‘missing’ poster just like the example shown here in the hope you will find your dragon again!
You can use any of the templates provided or make your own. You can even add colour to the background of your ‘missing’ poster by using a wet tea bag to stain it.<br>

Activity 5 Create a dragon emotions poem titled ‘The dragons inside of me’.
Make a list of different emotions such as happiness, sadness, jealousy, misery, etc. Think about how each of these emotions can become link a dragon lurking inside of you.
Use the following pattern in the example shown here to write about your own feelings.
Fill in the writing template and then write your poem out in neat.<br>
